I always love seeing new restaurants pop up all over the city, and Sandwich Me In is a great example. A sustainable sandwich stop, the owner (who makes the food right there in front of you) is very proud of the work he has done to the restaurant. He uses all of his ingredients from locally-produced farms (that can be seen in pictures in on the walls) and makes your food to order. But enough about that, let’s get to the real deal—the food.
They specialize in sandwiches of all shapes and sizes, starting with their take of a Monte Cristo. The battered bread and amazingly seasoned and tender pieces of ham make this breakfast favorite one of the most decadent sandwiches you’ll ever taste!
They also make their own homemade fruit sodas. The lemon apple was the featured one that day, and puts Sprite to shame!
Finally, always make sure to check out what their special sandwich. When I went, they had a seared pork belly with red cabbage slaw on a wheat bun. Ah-may-zing. I tell you, that was the most tender pork belly I have ever eaten… It literally melted in my mouth.
Oh, and did I mention they can make ANY sandwich half-sized? So yes, you can have the perfect half portion of a sandwich and a side to your liking.
So if you’re looking for a feel-good sandwich stop, be sure to check out this Lakeview restaurant!
