My aunt told me that this place was a Napa staple and that we just had to go check out. Gott’s Roadside gave me a good feeling because outside was a long line—a looooong line for a burger. I had a blueberry milkshake which was literally like drinking a blueberry cheesecake. With their garlic fries (that just smelled like garlic immediately when I opened the box) with me, I had their special Ahi burger. Imagine a giant chunky slice of seared ahi tuna sashimi as burger meat, topped with a slaw and a soft egg bun. That was one of the most intense burger experiences I have ever had!
Here it is, the amazing thanksgiving dinner post! My Filipino family doesn’t usually celebrate the American way, but we figured this year was a good time to do one for funsies. We had the classics: turkey, ham, cornbread. But of course we added our own Filipino flair! We had fried tilapia fillets, and my dad made a salsa out of cilantro, mangoes, onions and tomatoes. Don’t forget the afritada, the chicken sotanghon, and paksiw! And of course, rice (like we’d forget that!) Also, I’m proud to say that I made those loaded baked potatoes—yes I am very proud! In fact, I”m proud of my little Filipino family for making an epic feast! Hope everyone else had a good Thanksgiving meal!
