I’ve always been looking for a true hole-in-the-wall place where the food is the most important place to that restaurant, and I think I finally found it at Reecee’s Café. Right off of the Morse stop, this small place is packed with Cajun flavor. I ordered their gumbo that was so rich with spicy Cajun flavors and unbelievable smoky. The sausage in it with the shrimp were perfectly cooked, and so was the okra (one of my favorite vegetables!). And I also got the shrimp po boy which was of course fried to perfection, with an amazing sauce that went with it, and rustic homemade sweet potato fries. The one thing I loved about this place was that the shrimp tasted really fresh and cooked perfectly so it still tastes like shrimp. Also, the owner of the restaurant was the only one working during the lunch break, so I know my food had tender loving care in it. If you’re willing to wait for your food to be cooked as soon as you order, you definitely will not be disappointed.
